It has been recently revealed that the firm AT&T has been able to sell the highest levels of their new range of smart phones in the recent holiday season. It was further added however that the firm is still behind Verizon Wireless when it comes to building new customer relationships, and be able to make more revenue out of them.

Carrier IQ, the company that provides analytics software for mobile phone manufacturers and wireless carriers, has recently gathered attention as it has been alleged that the software is breaching the privacy of the phone users.

In the month of August, AT&T and T-Mobile refrained from the merger by the legislative bodies. However, the companies are hopeful that in the February’s antitrust trial, they will get the permission to go ahead with the merger.

It was recently revealed that there has been the arrest of four people in Philippines. This has been regarding a scam done by them which cost about $2 million. They apparently transferred the sum of money from the AT&T towards a bank account owned by a terrorist group from Saudi.

It seems that both the telecom companies, AT&T and T-Mobile have got an idea that the Federal Communications Commission would not give green signal to them for their merger. Therefore, they have mutually decided not to move ahead with their merger plans.

On Monday, AT&T authorities warned its customers regarding a cyber attack and notified that a group of hackers has attempted to access the online account information. The warning frightened more than 1 million customers who have accounts with AT&T wireless service.

AT&T Inc and T-Mobile of the USA gave strong defensive reply to the Justice Department who said that their merger would make competition more intense and would not do well for the market.

AT&T Chief Executive, Randall Stephenson, is thinking to buy the fourth-largest wireless carrier of the country from its parent Deutsche Telekom, T mobile USA.

AT&T Inc. (T) and T-Mobile USA have announced their surprise merger on Sunday, worth $39 billion. The merger aims at developing country’s largest wireless carrier with approximately 130 million customers.

According to a Monday announcement by AT&T, Amazon. com’s Kindle electronic book reader will become available at the carrier’s stores from Sunday, March 6.
