FDA Approves Auxilium’s Drug for Hand Disease

Food and Drug Administration, has approved the circulation of Auxilium Pharmaceuticals Inc.'s Xiaflex injection to treat a hand disease called Dupuytren's Contracture. It is a disorder caused by the buildup of an abnormal amount of collagen in hands.

Food and Drug Administration panel unanimously voted unanimously to recommend the approval of an experimental drug for the treatment of Dupuytren's contracture, which is a disabling disorder wherein the fingers curl and make routine activities very difficult.
