It seems that the US-based private equity group, Bain Capital is on the spree of acquiring more and more business ventures. As per reports, Bain Capital has earlier acquired SkillSoft, an Irish provider of e-learning software, for $1.2bn and is now showing interest in debt laden Micro Focus, which updates ageing computer systems and tests software.

Reports and sources have speculated that US private equity companies Kravis Roberts & Co. and Bain Capital are busy prepping themselves for Initial Public Offering of Toys "r" US and NXP SemiConductors.

The Dutch semiconductor firm NXP, which was spun off from Philips Electronics in 2006, is all set with its plans to raise over $1 Billion through an IPO.

On Saturday, Citigroup confirmed that it has agreed to sell the 93.5% stake in holds in Japan's telemarketer Bellsystem24 to America's private equity firm Bain Capital. The deal will cost Bain $1 Billion, or 95.3 Billion Yen, and Citi's complete stake will be transferred to the financial firm's ownership.

The Boston-based private investment company Bain Capital LLC has decided to make a $432 million investment to acquire a minority stake in China's second-largest electronics retailer - the Beijing-based Gome Electrical Appliances Holdings Ltd. Along with the proposed Bain Capital investment, Gome intends raising a total of $447 million, with contributions from other investors.
