According to reports, the US Food and Drug Administration has approved Bayer and Johnson & Johnson’s oral anticoagulant Xarelto, which is used to prevent deep vein thrombosis, that tends to lead to a pulmonary embolism in people that are having knee or hip replacement surgery.

On Monday, the renowned German drug maker, Bayer AG, had introduced a reformulated aspirin and claimed that the new version is around 2 times more efficient as compared to the regular aspirin. The drug uses a mechanism that chops aspirin molecules into smaller particles, roughly 10 times minor as compared to the original, which enables it to get absorbed more easily.

On Monday Bayer AG stated that it saw a surprise net loss in the final quarter as high charges, including a write-down of four hundred and five million euros or five hundred and fifty seven million dollars on its brand name Schering, affected the company's results.
