The world’s largest company of wireless carrier by users, China Mobile Ltd., revealed that it will be increasing its spending to meet the rising demand for data services.

The company gained more than what it had expected for the fourth quarter and so planned for the increased spending.

According to sources, the British mobile operator Vodafone has launched the sale of its 4.4 billion pounds stake in the China Mobile. The British firm holds 3.2% stake in the biggest mobile operator of the world, China Mobile with 554 million customers.

According to the sources, Vodafone has decided to sell its stake of China Mobile on the Hong Kong stock market.

The shares of China Mobile Ltd. dropped significantly in Hong Kong trading. The fall in shares were noted when the Sunday Times reported that Vodafone Group Plc. is planning to sell its share in China Mobile.

Swedish telecoms equipment group Ericsson is reported to have announced deals with China Mobile and China Unicom worth a combined $1.8bn (£1.2bn).

Seeking overseas investments in Asia and Africa, China Mobile Ltd. wants to expand its scope because of the trailing profits gained by the mobile operator at its residence. China mobile Ltd. is the biggest known mobile operator if taken into account the number of subscribers.

Maker of BlackBerry, Research in Motion, and China Mobile Ltd., have joined hands in a deal to offer BlackBerry handsets to personal users and small businesses across China, as well as come out with a handset which will be specifically based on the Chinese developed 3G mobile phone technology.
