In an annual conference in Las Vegas yesterday, the CTIA declared its results of the survey conducted on a semiannual basis to find out the performance of US wireless industry for the last half of 2009.

In spite of the financial recession, the results reveal that the wireless business has continued to grow due to the massive use of wireless services used by the US populace.

Although the introduction of Smartphone is predicted to bring about a revolution in the wireless services including video, mobile web and games, but the investors and analysts are still in anxiety for the reason that constant revenue cannot be assured out of the same.

The US wireless industry association CTIA and telecom carriers need to be on their toes hereafter, thanks to the rejuvenated Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which - under the headship of its newly-appointed Chairman Julius Genachowski - intends intense scrutiny of the industry!
