Tuesday’s US ruling has fortunately favored Taiwan's leading smartphone maker HTC as the ruling has declared that HTC has partially infringed a patent owned by the US technology giant Apple.

Carrier IQ, the company that provides analytics software for mobile phone manufacturers and wireless carriers, has recently gathered attention as it has been alleged that the software is breaching the privacy of the phone users.

It has been reported that the sales of HTC has witnessed a plunge of 30% in the month of November. As compared to last year, the sales of HTC has fallen to T$30.94 billion in October 2011. The figures clearly indicate that the mobile market is volatile.

It has been reported that a US regulator has ruled that the technology giant has not attempted to violate graphics patents owned by the Taiwanese firm. The ruling has enabled Apple to enjoy another victory regarding its patent battle with HTC.

Taiwan’s HTC Corp almost tripled their first-quarter earnings because of a strong demand for handsets, especially those that run on Android. The company reported on Friday that its profits were T$14.83 billion, when the forecast for profits was only T$12.99 billion.

According to a recent Amazon advertisement, the HTC Desire S handset – the new version of the HTC Desire handset that received rave reviews at the MWC last year - will likely be released on April 18; and the cost of the phone will be $419.99.

Norwegian site Amobil Tuesday leaked the specifications of HTC’s forthcoming tablet, the HTC Flyer, which will mark the company’s foray into the fast emerging and potentially lucrative tablet market.

According to reports, the HTC 7 PRO smartphone – one of the Windows Phone 7-based handsets announced in October – will finally hit the UK markets in February; after a delay in the device’s earlier-scheduled Christmas launch.

In an indication that HTC Corp. could be developing a tablet computer that will take on the Apple iPad, the Taoyuan, Taiwan-based firm has reportedly filed for a trademark for a device called "HTC Scribe."

With Verizon Wireless having powered up its new 4G LTE (long-term evolution) network on December 5, some of the carrier's recent comments, along with lead-up teasers for the forthcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES), suggest that handsets for the speedy new network are apparently on the way!
