With Comcast-NBC, Disney and News Corp’s Fox apparently displeased at the Hulu CEO Jason Kilar’s recent post which challenged traditional TV from studios, it is being speculated that Hulu may oust Kilar.

In order to bring back “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” and “The Colbert Report” to the content platform, Hulu has just entered into a content partnership with Viacom. But the financial terms included in the new agreement are not revealed.

In a Wednesday announcement, online video site Hulu revealed that it has, as promised, updated its Hulu Plus iOS app, which now boasts several new features, bug fixes, and other improvements.

In a move that reflects Hulu's gradual ramping up of the availability of its Hulu Plus platform, the company recently announced that access to Hulu Plus is now available for the existing owners of the 2010 models of Sony Bravia HDTVs.

In a Tuesday announcement, TiVo and Roku revealed their plans of offering their users the access to Hulu’s earlier-this-year-launched premium subscription service, Hulu Plus, from their respective set-top boxes –TiVo’s Premiers DVRs, and Roku’s Internet-connected set-top boxes.

The toughest plan in digital media is being prepared by Hulu, the popular online site for watching television shows, which will be free in the beginning, but will become paid later on.

If reports are to be believed, Hulu could be turning into a paid service by the coming month. Even though no official announcement has been made by the company, reports peg the rate of monthly subscription at $9.95. By paying this flat amount users may be able to watch the old episodes of their favorite shows.

Viacom has planned to remove "The Daily Show", "The Colbert Report" and other comedy central programs from the online Hulu, next week. Due to the present incapacity of the service of protecting the rights, the hit political satires are being taken from its essential shelves.

Hulu once outdated the traditional search by adding site-wide tags, which made it very easy to find information. And now again this video content site's platform is adding “caption search”, which lets users search for keywords within the closed captions for videos of TV shows on the site.

The comments that News Corp.'s deputy chairman, Chase Carey, made on Thursday at the OnScreen Media Summit explicitly indicate that the popular 'free' Hulu video service may soon be a thing of the past - giving way to Hulu subscription service!
