In quest to boost up the annual sales, Mitsubishi Motors North America announced the launch of its new SUV model, which is to be manufactured at its unit in Normal, Illinios.

The Outlander Sport compact SUV model will see a massive production by the onset of 2012, side-lining the four existing models, which were previously produced at the Normal plant.

In a move that marks Mitsubishi Motors' attempts to work out adequate support for the UK roll-out of its first mass-produced electric car - the i-MiEV - the company recently announced that it has nominated 13 dealers for selling the new compact electric car and providing after-sales service.

Three days following the British Government's Plug-In Car Grant (PICG) going live, offering twenty five percent of the worth of a sub-seventy five g/km car up to a maximum amount of five thousand pounds Mitsubishi has announced an array of payment plans for its all-electric i-MiEV, one of the cars that qualifies for the scheme.

Both Mitsubishi Motors Corp and Nissan Motors Corp announced that they are going to strengthen their ties in operations so that both the firms can better utilize their resources as the Japanese currency Yen rising up and making it difficult for them to compete in the market.

A trial regarding the benefit of using electric cars in Wellington is going to be conducted by the Wellington City Council. The trial would involve the evaluation of battery powered cars in the city.

Today Murchinson Metals discarded the rumor that Mitsubishi will no more be there in the Oakajee joint venture. It saw a decline of twelve percent in its shares.  

According to Murchinson they did not find any reason for Mitsubishi to walk away from the fifty- fifty and under the project iron ore will be exported from the year of 2014. 

It may please fleet consultants and Mitsubishi lovers that the firm has agreed upon slashing the price of its upcoming electric vehicle before the car lands the market place.

It is for January 2011 that the iMiEV will be launched, which earlier was priced at £38,699, however the new price for the Mitsubishi car arrives at £28,990.

According to reports, Mitsubishi Motors North America said that its March sales grew 17% over last year as the sales of sedans, crossovers and sport utility vehicles boosted. 

On Thursday, the Japanese automaker said that it sold 5,434 vehicles in the United States in March.

In the background of new cars and crossovers, All Wheel Drive (AWD) is a fully automatic machine, which sends engine power to all four wheels of the vehicle.

The 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander is now in markets with an award-winning S-AWC system.

Japan's Mitsubishi Motors Corp. and France's PSA Peugeot Citroen won't form a capital alliance in the midst of the current indecisive business outlook, but they would keep on talking towards extended business ties, said both the companies in a joint statement on Tuesday.
