Oracle and NetApp settle Patent clash

It was further added that the lawsuit was initially fought amidst NetApp and Sun Microsystems, but when Oracle acquired Sun, the fight further continued. It was further claimed that both the firms had agreed to drop the charges and make progress.
Unified Storage is Wave of the Future, Says NetApp

However, another view is that this press and blog blitz may have more to do with an expected unified storage declaration from the storage industry's 800-pound monster, EMC.
EMC to Come up with “V-CX” Device Unifying Storage Arrays

NetApp is also depicting its unified storage cred through a nifty graphic on its home page.
EMC raises its bid for Data Domain by 10%, to shove out NetApp
