Latest reports have revealed that the Southern culinary queen and the writer of numerous cooking guides, Paula Deen, has announced recently that she would be giving a percentage of her earnings to the nonprofit American Diabetes Association by endorsing Novo Nordisk diabetes products.

Mads Krogsgaard Thomsen, the Chief Science Officer for Novo Nordisk A/S, recently claimed that their experimental “insulin Degludec” is likely to acquire Sanofi’s Lantus, most probably within next decade.

Novo-Nordisk, the medical giants may have a tough time dealing with the results of the tests if the accusation on their anti-bleeding drug came in to be positive. It has been found that this drug is not beneficial to some patients when they were administered this drug during surgery. Some patients also suffered from side-effects when given this drug.

On Wednesday, prominent Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk shared that the formal feedback that the company was expecting on its Victoza diabetes drug has been delayed by the US Food and Drug Administration beyond 2009, but it is expected "within weeks".

According to a study presented at the American Diabetes Association conference in New Orleans on Sunday, Novo Nordisk A/S's experimental diabetes medicine, liraglutide, scored high over rival products, in terms of bringing about weight loss and controlled blood-sugar levels in diabetics after a two-year treatment period.

Despite a split ruling on the safety of a new diabetes drug by the U. S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) advisory panel, Novo Nordisk says it still expects to get the agency's approval for Liraglutide.
