According to reports, while all leading networks in the UK will apparently carry the much-hyped and highly-awaited Sony PlayStation phone, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, an exclusive white version of the handset will only be available on O2.

According to an O2 spokesperson, a “mobile wallet” by the company is apparently on the cards sometime later this year; thereby hinting that NFC (near field communication) is set to arrive in the UK.

Mobile operator firm O2 has made extra efforts to update its well known HTC Desire smartphone to Android 2.2. This step has come up immediately after O2 updated its Dell’s Streak to Android 2.1; but it seems as if the firm has done these jobs in a great hurry, because the users are facing a lot of trouble with the updates.

Apple’s latest smartphone is likely to cost £595 for the 32GB handset and £495 for the 16GB model, without the contract from O2, who has just declared that it intends to sell the iPhone 4 on PAYG.

BE broadband, the supposed O2-owned mobile phone provider has initiated the latest tests for all new landline service and is seeking for seventy people who can take part in trials and the closing date for the same is believed to be the 9th of July 2010.

Before opening up the sales to new customers, O2 has declared that it will be keep its stocks of the freshly released iPhone 4, for its existing clientele, for at least a month or so.

The new-fangled Apple iPhone 4 Smartphone has been announced to be given only to its prevalent patrons, confining the sale, as the present allotments are enormously tensed. It has been confirmed by Telefonica-owned, O2.

O2 and Orange have given all the information related to upgrade, tariffs and handset costs for the new iPhone 4. But if you do not intend to commit to an agreement, there are other options as well.

O2 that recently claimed of its iPhone 4 availability has thrown in the pricing details online.

One can have hands on over the device, at a starting price of £25 per month on a two year contract, and £30 per month on 18 months. But it comes strange as the 16GB handset costs £279 on the two year deal, and £209 on an 18 month deal.

O2 has disclosed its new tariff plans for smartphones, together with Apple's iPhone 4 that was revealed by Steve Jobs this week at the corporation's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
