In a recent report, it has been made clear that the sales of cholesterol blockbuster Lipitor have tumbled down by 50% in a single week as the market is flooded with new prescriptions for generic Lipitor. Though stern efforts were made by Lipitor maker Pfizer to ensure that patients stray with their pull, it was observed that majority of the patients had switched their preference.

Ranbaxy gets nods for Quinapril & HCTZ Tablets

India'a largest pharmaceutical company Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd has finally got nod from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) and Quinapril Hydrochloride & Hydrochlotothiazide (Quinapril + HCTZ) Tablets, an ACE inhibitor which is used to treat high blood pressure.

New Applications from a Ranbaxy Plant Halted by FDA

U. S. health officials said the review of any new drug applications from a Ranbaxy Laboratories plant in India has been halted after it was discovered that scientific data was falsified.
