As per reported information, it has got revealed that 13 drug makers and many health organizations have united with the government to eliminate 10 tropical diseases by 2020. Some of the known drug companies and health organizations which have taken the pledge with the government are Astra and Glaxo and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

A number of large, important drug companies have announced major cuts to the cost of the vaccines that they provide to people in the developing world. GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Johnson & Johnson, Merck and Sanofi-Aventis have all said that they will cut prices for Gavi, an international vaccine alliance.
