The upsurge of renewable forms of energy in the UK has raised question over the effective output of the steps being taken by the Government to meet the green targets. As per reports, opinion is divided on the issue of construction of offshore wind farms between Ministers and experts on green policy.

In a recent move, Chairman of the Committee on Climate Change, Lord Adair Turner, demanded that Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) competition should also cover gas and coal projects. The Chairman had reportedly written a letter regarding these recommendations to the Energy Secretary.

The Financial Services Authority is expected to introduce new rules in order to tighten the risky lending. The FSA wants the lenders to ensure the clients are more strictly checked so that they are not lent debt they can not repay.
