Oscar-winner Sean Penn, 49, was charged with two transgressions with a photographer, last year. He could be sent to prison, if somehow, found guilty, Los Angeles prosecutors said on Friday. Last October, at an upscale shopping center in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles, he allegedly kicked a photographer in the leg and broke his camera.

The National Society of Film Critics has surprisingly chosen “Waltz With Bashir’ - an animated documentary by Israeli director Ari Folman – as the best film of the year; though other film associations had picked either “Slumdog Millionaire” or “Milk” or else “Wall-E.”

Director Gus Van Sant and first-time screenwriter, Dustin Lance Black, have brought together a brilliant reduction of big issues and mass movements into telling human moments, in their latest offering ‘Milk’. 

'Milk', the Harvey Milk biopic won over the New York Film Critics Circle, who not only gave it their Best Feature prize, but also gave stars Sean Penn and Josh Brolin, their Best Actor and Supporting Actor award, respectively.
