Bulgaria to Re-Erect Fences along the Turkish Border to Avoid the Spread of FMD

In order to stop the spread of foot-and-mouth into Bulgaria, the country has announced that it will be reconstructing the barb fence, which is bordering with Turkey. The announcement was made during a press conference being convened by the Director General of the National Veterinary Service, Yordan Voynov.

An announcement by the Home Office has confirmed that the current annual limitations for low skilled workers from the European countries of Romania and Bulgaria will stay as they are for at least another two years. However, the officials did say that if the economy improves, these could then be considered again and possibly lifted.

Bulgaria and Russia sign agreements on fishing

Sofia - Bulgaria became on Monday the first European Union state to sign an agreement with Russia on the trade of fish and fish products.

The agreement allows Bulgarian fish processing plants to export their products to Russia, said the Bulgarian Agriculture Ministry in Sofia.
