Recent report claims that there has been an increase in number of deaths in Haiti from the cholera epidemic which was affecting the poverty-stricken country since mid-October. The list has grown over to 3,333, as per the health ministry on Friday.

The death toll from the cholera epidemic that broke out in Haiti in mid-October now stands at 2,761, according to a bulletin released Wednesday by the health ministry here.

According to information posted on the ministry's Web page, 130,534 people have been infected with cholera, of which 79,865 have been hospitalized, although 68,932 of those have been released.

The Haitian ministry of health reported 2,707 deaths from cholera in the country, also with 128,251 infected people since the outbreak of the plague in October.
