With Apple having extended formal invitations to the media and the analysts, for the January 27 event at San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater, a Fox News’ article on Monday claims that the event will mark the unveiling of the highly-speculated Apple tablet computer.
In addition, the article - titled ‘Apple Tablet, iPhone 4 Launch Confirmed for January 27th’ - also mentions that the forthcoming Apple media event will also witness the next iteration of the iLife software from Apple, as well as information about the next iPhone OS update.
In the article, Clayton Morris has detailed his Monday morning conversation with an unnamed Apple source who ‘confirmed’ that the media event will focus basically on three specific announcements: the much-rumored tablet, iLife 2010, and an updated iPhone OS.
Even though Morris has a track record of correctly breaking Apple-related stories, the somewhat cryptic wording of the invitations posted by Apple leaves some reservations about Morris’ article this time round. The invitation seeks the presence of the press and companies at the event where a “latest creation” by Apple will be unveiled.
Going by the wording, it is likely that the event is probably dedicated entirely to the tablet device – more so as precedence shows that Apple has been fairly ‘open’ with its iPhone OS update announcements, which often come later in the year!
