Search giant Google is examining if any of its China staff helped hackers in launching cyber attacks against it.
Sources said that the internal network access of some of Google’s 700 china staff had been cut off for the duration of internal investigation.
Investigation followed cyber attacks on Google and other US-based companies. Google said that the attacks originated in China and some of its staff could have helped hackers.
Prior to cyber attacks, the Chinese Government had demand Google to censor a host of banned topics, including Tiananmen Square massacre and Tibet riots. But Google denied stopping censoring results.
The prevalent suspicion is that china’s intelligence agencies have been in collusion with the gangs that launched the attacks.
Google said that it was pursuing talks with the Chinese authorities to find a solution.
Earlier, Google threatened that it would move out of China altogether rather than bowing to China’s unjustifiable demands.
