Official announcements shared by Sony on Wednesday confirmed that the company has pushed back the release of its PlayStation3 Motion Controller to this year's Fall. Earlier the gadget was set for release in Spring.
As has been shared by Sony, the new offering could not have offered the most value to gamers had the release happened in Spring, saying that fewer number of games that could use the new device.
"We have decided to release the Motion Controller in fall 2010 when we will be able to offer an exciting and varied line-up of software titles that will deliver the new entertainment experience to PS3 users", Kazuo Hirai, President of Sony Computer Entertainment.
Mr. Hirai went on to highlight that his firm is currently busy working to develop a "comprehensive portfolio of attractive and innovative games for the Motion Controller". The company is expected to take the wraps off the software line-up for the new offering "soon".
Sony's Motion Controller has been designed to work in association with the PlayStation Eye Camera. When both the devices are operational, a gamer's hand movements are effectively detected, which allows players to "interact" with the action that is happening on-screen.
