The marijuana medical law of New Jersey is a looming cloud for New York pot dealers who worry that their profits are going to take a deep dip.
One pot dealer told the Daily News, “It's going to cut a lot of the bridge-and-tunnel customers," one pot dealer told the Daily News. "I'm just trying to lock down who I have in the city. I have to stay on the grind.”
This week, New Jersey residents suffering from cancer, glaucoma, seizure disorders and other deadly diseases will be able to get prescriptions for up to 2 ounces of pot monthly.
The law was passed on medical marijuana in 2007 and 2008 by the New York State Assembly but has not reached the state Senate floor for voting yet.
Proponents of medical marijuana informed that the law in New Jersey and the proposed law in New York make it extremely tough for people to take undue advantage of legal pot.
The law will only permit sickly people with valid medical prescriptions to get their hands on marijuana.
