Conan O’ Brien Demands Higher Severance Pay For Staffers
Conan O' Brien

With Conan O' Brien determined to garner a better severance deal for his staffers at 'The Tonight Show', his work place of only six months, the talks with NBC to ensure a satisfactory exit deal for both parties seem to be stalled.

While Conan insists that this is the most crucial part of the exit negotiations and that he was "dug in on that", NBC claims that this is nothing but a publicity ploy on the part of the talk show host to deflect resentment from the staffers who were out of jobs as a result of his decision, while he walked away with close to 30 million dollars.

"It was Conan's decision to leave NBC that resulted in nearly 200 of his staffers being out of work", said a statement released by NBC. They also claimed that they were already paying millions to the staffers in compensation.

According to the working deal between the two parties, along with getting a hefty pay check, Conan could also join another network to start work as early as this fall; however, he would not be allowed to make NBC the butt of his jokes.

Jay Leno is rumoured to be replacing Conan O' Brien as the next host of 'The Tonight Show' and thus returning to a post he had recently vacated.
