Going by the results of two recent Apple-tablet-connected surveys, one by research firm ChangeWave and the other by shopping site Retrevo. com, though consumers are quite keen at taking a peek at the much-rumored device, which will apparently be released next Wednesday, most of them would not be willing to buy the device if it costs more than $700.
Statistically speaking, ChangeWave questioned 3,314 consumers about the Apple tablet, and reported that there is “strong consumer interest” in an Apple tablet, thanks to the “high levels of pre- launch excitement.”
The survey showed that while nearly 4 percent of respondents said that they were “very likely” to purchase the tablet for themselves or somebody else; 14 percent said that they were “somewhat likely” to go in for the device.
Out of the “interested” respondents, 75 percent said that they would be “willing to pay $500 or more” for the device; while only 37 percent said that they would like to buy the tablet even if it cost more than $700.
Meanwhile, the Retrevo. com survey of 500 consumers revealed that 70 percent of respondents expressed their unwillingness to but the Apple tablet if it costs over $700. In addition, almost 44 percent respondents said they would not like to buy the device if it comes along with any monthly data plan, via a wireless carrier, for providing access to the Internet.
