A New York landlord has sued Mischa Barton for allegedly failing to pay her rent.

According to the complaint, the 23-year-old former "The O. C." actress was unable to pay three months worth of rent on her $7,000 a month TriBeCa apartment.

It is cited that the streak of personal and professional misfortune is continuously plaguing her since her departure from The O. C. in 2006.

M. R. A. Realties claimed that Barton has disapproved to react to their attempts to collect the rent. They are now demanding her to pay the full rent amount and the legal fees they incurred with the complaint.

However, Barton back on track, establishing herself within Manhattan's entertainment elite, and seeks to have no recent plans to return to Hollywood.

However, the actress had undergone the lease in Manhattan to work on the CW cancelled series "The Beautiful Life", revealed the eonline. com.

She is currently reported to be in town for her guest appearance in the upcoming film on "Law & Order: SVU".

Reps for Barton had no immediate response, but an inside source reports, "People close to her were hoping [The Beautiful Life] would get her back on track. But it looks like she's going to need yet another chance".
