Like many of its competitors, Target Corp. also wants a share in the international market, and while the American discount super-chain has announced that it is looking to expand into the Canadian market and open a few stores there, shoppers should not get too excited because the plans have not been cemented yet.
A Target spokeswoman shared that it is still "too early" to say for sure whether or not the company would actually be making Canada its sector of choice, and as of now, only possibilities are being explored.
"We haven't confirmed that it will be Canada. We're looking at Canada, Mexico and Latin America as options", said Hadley Barrows.
Ms. Barrows also said that the move to the north could take about three to five years, while also sharing the Target is looking at Latin America and Mexico as potential markets as well.
"I'm certain the expansion is going to happen. We just don't know any other specifics", she said.
