Berger leads home Norwegian one-two in Hochfilzen

Austria - Lars Berger won his first biathlon World Cup event in four seasons Saturday when the Norwegian claimed victory in the men's 10-kilometre sprint in Hochfilzen, Austria.

Berger produced perfect shooting in the range and fantastic skiing to win a time of 25 minutes 23.1 seconds. Compatriot Alexander Os missed one target to finish a distant second, 37.9 seconds behind Berger in 26:01.0 minutes.

Russia's Dmitri Yaroshenko also hit all 10 targets but had to settle for third spot, 39.8 seconds adrift of Berger in 26:02.9 minutes.

A women's 7.5km World Cup sprint is scheduled for later. (dpa)
