Employees at Harrah's Cherokee Casino are striving to control an intestinal disease and they are sanitizing the 3,300 slot machines with bleach and water mixture after as often as two hours.
Casino machines are being wiped off everywhere on account of a gastro-intestinal outbreak that is reported to have sickened nearly 200 people since January 12 that has resulted in intestinal illnesses and vomiting and diarrhoea.
The Asheville Citizen-Times has reported Friday that the employees at Harrah's Cherokee Casino and hotel are working around the clock to try and keep their machines decontaminated, thoroughly on the track of cleanliness.
In addition, they are fighting against the virus, working hard in sanitizing the bathrooms, all handrails and door knobs every hour.
A Casino spokesman quoted that a noro-virus is the culprit behind the outbreak. These are very common on cruise ships and at schools.
The casino reports an average of 7,500 visitors daily and according to a state epidemiologist relatively few of the guests have gotten sick.
