Ill fortune seems to bedevil Apple over its newly introduced Apple iMac that was released in the October of last year. Ever since issues over quality control that include broken and yellowed screens, graphical glitches and failure to boot have kept the technology department at the computer electronics giant busy to warrant a delay, with management pushing the delay window for two weeks.
Although, the latest addition to the Apple family has been a tremendous success in terms of sales with the iMacs triumphing in the fourth quarterly report over competitors, Apple is concerned about the problems that have plagued the popular model and understandably so since it has built a large consumer base and its particular portion of the market on the basis of its strong brand image. An image that is likely to suffer if the quality slippages are not addressed soon enough.
The complaints against the numerous defects in iMacs that have been collated on a website number 2000, including 1500 grievances.
Apple had released a firmware update in late December for all 27-in iMacs which was supposed to "address issues that may cause image corruption or the display to flicker." However, this apparently wasn't the answer as reports of malfunctioning continued.
