Singer Britney Spears may just trump Paris Hilton, as rumours are afoot that the 'One More Time' girl is dating Benji Madden, Hilton's ex-boyfriend, the hotel heiress-cum-socialite has been trying to get back with.

Following Hilton's breakup with the Good Charlotte rocker, it seems Spears is said to be growing close to him, after the two were introduced to each other by Larry Rudolph, Spears' manager.

According to Touch Weekly magazine, Spears and Madden shared dinner at a Los Angeles hotel, including meeting up on several other occasions, since. The pair has been on a few dates and Britney seems to really like Benji, who likes her back, Which, no doubt, will make Hilton, all hot and mad, as even though she and Madden split up last month after a 9-month relationship, she has been doing her best to get back with the rocker.

So, with career restored, apparently it appears Spears is focusing on getting back on track as far as romance is concerned. And, she seems to be getting help from her father/conservator, Jamie Spears, who together with Rudolph is playing matchmaker, by assembling a list of appropriate suitors for Britney. On the list were Olympic swimming phenom Michael Phelps, 23, and Gossip Girl hunk Chace Crawford, 23, however, Madden won, as he was the 'most interested' in meeting Brit.

But, putting to rest rumours of a Madden - Spears pairing, Britney's publicist Holly Shakoor categorically denied to E! News that Brit and Benji had private time together.
