Italian homeless to get free caviar for Christmas

Milan - Homeless and poor people in the Italian city of Milan can look forward to Russian caviar with their Christmas dinner this year.

Some 40 kilos of the delicacy confiscated by the National Forest Corps will be distributed to the needy at soup kitchens during the holiday period.

An inspector in the corps thought up the unusual idea, the newspaper Corriere della Sera reported Saturday.

"I'd just like to live in a world where the expression 'all the best' really means 'all the best'," the daily quoted him as saying. (dpa)
