Japanese auto maker Toyota will unveil details early Monday of how it plans to fix faulty accelerator pedals that compelled the company to recall around 2.4 million vehicles in the United States.
Automaker giant’s subsidiary, Toyota Motor Sales U. S. A., will issue a news release at 6:30 a. m. EST, which will be followed by a conference call for media at 11:00 a. m. EST.
It was informed that president of Toyota Motor Sales U. S. A., Jim Lentz, would appear on a U. S. morning TV show, the Today Show, to describe company’s stance.
Company’s president Akio Toyoda has already apologized for the recall, saying the company was sorry to make customers uneasy.
But, this is not the only recall announced by the Japanese automaker.
Recently, the auto giant also pulled as many as 1.8 million vehicles in Europe over safety concerns.
Earlier last year, the company had recalled around 5.3 million vehicles in the US to replace floor mats that could trap accelerator pedals.
