More needs to be done to improve the prevailing situation in Haiti post quak, an Ottawa physician returning from Haiti said.

Robert Yelle, who spent 11 days in Haiti, said, "In terms of health, it's the access to the help they need. What is happening is that supplies aren't necessarily delivered in the ratio of what's needed there.

Canadian doctors are however trying to improve the situation. To treat the survivors of the quake in Haiti which was of magnitude-7.0 military and civilian physicians from Canada flew to Haiti.

Another special medical unit was added from Canada from its Disaster Assistance Relief Team, on Sunday. The team strived to provide food to the survivors.

Relief workershowever stated that only women should get the food from distribution sites. This step has been taken to stop reported stealing and threats gang members use in lineups.

Problems are rising inspite of relief operation going on and conditions in the shanty towns are deteriorating.

Children in Haiti are being diagnosed with dengue and malaria due to insufficient hygiene.
