Lil Wayne is MTV’s 2008 Man Of The Year

You can hate him or love him, but, whichever way it is, New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne continues to dominate the music world.  Surpassing everyone’s original expectations, Jay Sean’s boy - Lil Wayne has not only sold ‘3 Millie’ and best selling album of the year - ‘Tha Carter III’, he also has a new baby son, some  new guitars, 8 Grammy nominations, and now MTV has named him their 2008 Man of The Year.

 An unbelievable year for Lil Wayne, he has beaten British actor Robert Pattinson, with runner-up Kanye West, coming in right behind him, T-Pin (No. 9), T.I. (No. 9) and Nick Jonas to grab the Man of the Year award.  Over the past year, he has dominated hip-hop, with legions of his fans, including some of his critics, anointing him with the unofficial title of ‘Best Rapper Alive’.

Woman Of The Year award listed pop megastars, such as, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, and Katy Perry.  However, Danity Kane’s ‘Aubrey O’Day’ grabbed No. 7, Beyonce’s alter-ego Sasha Fierce claimed No. 6, Rihanna at No. 8, with Beyonce rounding up the top at No. 10.

But, ‘Twilight’ was MTV’s pick for No. 1 Woman of the Year.
