The official Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society is all set to hold a kick-off party from 7 to 9PM on Thursday at the Live Oak high school auditorium, 101 S. Colonial Drive.
"The kick-off is a fun and exciting evening that is designed to inspire and inform the community about this year's upcoming Relay for Life on June 4 and 5", said organizer Sue Holland.
In the events of Relay for Life, groups of people camp out across local high schools, parks or fairgrounds, in addition to taking turns to walk or run around a track or path. Each team is required to have a representative on the tracks at all times, as long as the event in on, which reflects that cancer never sleeps.
"Cancer survivors are celebrated, loved ones are remembered and everyone gets ready to find out how to fight back against this disease that affects everyone", Ms. Holland said.
No admission fee is charged ands more information can be obtained from relayforlife. org/manchesternj.
