Attention Captured by AIDS Awareness Campaign through Singing and Preaching

In lieu of the National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, the AIDS Project of the Ozarks organized a gospel concert. Dozens of people from across the community voiced their option about AIDS awareness.

The group, through singing and preaching, revealed how the impact of the deadly disease has managed to hit epic proportions.

"In the state of Missouri, African Americans make up 13 percent of the population. Of all the new cases recorded, we're 50 percent", said Tina Bennett with the AIDS Project of the Ozarks.

The presentation was designated as a choice and a lifestyle.

Also, the group shared ample information about the alarming numbers.

As has been shared by the New York State Department of Health, blacks are about 10 times more at risk of being newly diagnosed with HIV as compared to whites.
