Viewing Deck Shut by World's Tallest Tower

On Monday, Dubai's Emaar Properties shared that the observation deck of the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower, has been closed temporarily for maintenance purposes, a mere weeks after opening.

"Due to unexpected high traffic, the observation deck experience at the BurjKhalifa, At the Top, has been temporarily closed for maintenance and upgrade. Technical issues with the power supply are being worked on by the main and subcontractors", said a Burj Khalifa spokesperson. No confirmations, however, have been given on when the deck will be open again.

The observation deck is located on the building's 124th floor.

Previously known as Burj Dubai, Burj Khalifa was officially opened to the public recently on January 04.

Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai, pleasantly surprised everyone by renaming the tallest skyscraper in the world after his counterpart in Abu Dhabi. The opening ceremony was one of the grandest ever.
