Over 400,000 Priuses and Other Hybrid Vehicles Recalled by Toyota

On Tuesday, Toyota officially announced yet another global recall, this time covering over 400,000 Priuses and other hybrid vehicles with faulty brakes and other braking issues, on the very same that the US Transportation Department said it is still busy reviewing complaints from drivers about "hard-to-handle" steering on the 2009-10 Toyota Corolla models.

The latest recall has come as yet another blow to the Japanese automobiles giant, which has managed to build its global reputation solely on reliability.

Toyota's President Akio Toyota recently apologized for all the quality and safety issues being faced by customers and to all those who have been affected by the recall of over 7 million vehicles, at a news conference in Tokyo.

With the recall, the company will be fixing a software issue in the braking system of the Prius and other hybrid cars that seem to have caused brief, and sometime highly frightening, delays in the perceived braking capacity on icy on bumpy road surfaces.
