Going by a recent press release from Ubisoft, a new chapter in the ‘Ghost Recon’ franchise - Tom Clancy’s ‘Ghost Recon: Future Soldier’ - will mark a notable shift from sophisticated war-fighters to future soldiers.
Being developed by the same team that created the 2007 game series ‘Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter’, the new ‘Ghost Recon: Future Soldier’ will likely hit the stores towards the later part of 2010.
The new game will provide the gamers the power, adaptability as well as cognitive resilience of the future soldier, who handles the most difficult of missions with élan – thanks to his specialization in every sphere of warfare.
The future soldier, fully outfitted for survival and skilled in unparalleled discretion, will be armed with a cache of real-world high-tech weapons, only in prototype at present. Virtually an F-16 on legs, the future soldier will be exceptionally trained to lock-on to his goal, even in the most complex, high-risk war-zones in the world.
While Ubisoft - which has claimed that the ‘Future Soldier’ features “cutting-edge technology, prototype high-tech weaponry, and state-of-the-art single-player and multiplayer modes” - has stated that Xbox 360 is the game’s only platform; a post on the Twitter feed of the game’s publisher has revealed that it will also debut on PC and PlayStation 3.
