World’s Greatest Shave

The “World’s Greatest Shave” is to be held from 11 to 13 March. Almost 2480 Victorians are guessed to be identified with leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma or some blood disorder. Blood cancer is probably the second major cancer killer in Australia.

The Leukemia Foundation is appealing to the community to register for World’s Greatest Shave. Researches and treatments are aimed to be helped by the money collected in the event. Also blood cancer patients and their families will be assisted by this money.

The “World’s Greatest Shave” spokesperson said, “More people from the City of Greater Dandenong were needed to participate in the event”.

Mr. Dean Barrett, a member of the 2nd Springvale Scouts Bunerong Rovers group, prepares to shave his head in before 120 fellow members at a scout’s camp. Mr. Barret wants to raise atleast $250 which is triple the amount he managed to raise two years back. It is said that Mr. Barret lost his brother to the disease at the age of 13. His 23-year-old brother Lee intends to donate $100 for the cause.
