Twitter is being used by everyone alike, and celebrities seem to have grown especially fond of it, and the latest star to create a ruffle with his tweet has been John Mayer. The celebrity recently issued an online apology on the micro-blogging site.
Mayer has nearly 3 million Twitter followers and it was there that he decided to apologize for, and retract, the statements that he had made to the press about his past relationships, the sexual behavior displayed by his ex-girlfriends and his usage of the "N-word".
@johncmayer, on Wednesday, published the following tweet:
"Re: using the 'N word' in an interview: I am sorry that I used the word. And it's such a shame that I did because the point I was trying to make was in the exact opposite spirit of the word itself. It was arrogant of me to think I could intellectualize using it because I realize that there's no intellectualizing a word that is so emotionally charged".
Although a public apology has been made, it does not look like Mayer will be forgiven anytime soon.
