Victorian Medical Group to Recruit New Doctors

The central Victorian medical group has appointed a new task force to recruit more specialists to the region. It is hoping to raise about $900,000 to pay, for the doctors.

"We have a shortage of doctors around Bendigo. We'd be looking for specialists from firstly Australia, but also South Africa and England, or the United Kingdom", said Dr Peter Mazur, the task force’s Chairman.

The medical group aims to improve access to health services and ensure that Bendigo does not suffer from a shortfall of medical professionals.

In view of the increasing population, the medical group is preparing itself to cater to problems relating to ear, nose and throat.

“We will then bring people to Bendigo and then fully look after them to make sure they meet all the appropriate people involved in their job, real estate, banking, schools and so forth to make sure they’re fully comfortable with Bendigo”, said Mr. Mazur.
