Chicago Man Sues Daniel, Wholesome
salami product

Raymond Cirimele, a Chicago resident sued Daniele International Inc. and Wholesome Spice, alleging that the companies’ salami product made him fall sick.

He filed a lawsuit against the companies in Cook County Circuit Court, on Thursday.

A similar lawsuit against Daniele and Wholesome Spice was filed by Harold Hanks of Lake Ozark, last week.

Daniele had to recall more than 1 million pounds of salami, last month.

“We have temporarily stopped production of salami products. We have also changed our spice suppliers and are now using only irradiated pepper”, said Jason Maloni, Daniele International Inc.’s Spokesman.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is tracking the outbreak, which has sickened 225 people so far, including 15 in Illinois and two in Missouri.

A spokesman of Wholesome Spice has proclaimed that regulators have cleared the plant for production.
