Zhu Zhu Pets Named Top Toy of 2009
Cepia

Cepia LLC's Zhu Zhu Pets, which recently had everyone running around just to get their hands on the cute robotic hamsters, has been awarded the honor of being the top toy of the year 2009 by judges at the 10th Annual Toy of the Year Event, which recently took place in New York.

Despite the fact that the toy maker is a very small unit, with only 16 employees, Cepia has managed to give the world one of the most popular and sought after toys ever.

"This was just an incredible night. And it's very exciting to have the toy that every child wanted last Christmas", said Cepia Vice President Bruce Katz, at Saturday's night's awards function.

Zhu Zhu Pets are robotic hamsters which display interactive capabilities. Also named the Girl Toy of the Year and Innovative Toy of the Year, these pets managed to surge to popularity almost overnight during the 2009 holiday season, priced at a mere $7.99 a piece.

The honor of being the Top Electronic Entertainment Toy of the Year 2009 went to TechnoSource's Rubik's Touch Cube.
