Healthcare in Canada not adequate

Taking Canada's flawed healthcare system into consideration Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Danny Williams had to go outside Canada for a critical heart surgery. He was released from a U. S. hospital on Friday. However, the procedure Williams needed exists in Canada but not really.

Taking this as an example of healthcare lacking in Canada, the right-wing experts in the United States and Canada immediately pointed it out. According to the Fraser Institute in Vancouver Williams is just one example of thousands of Canadians going to other places for treatment each year.

According to a cardiologist in Newfoundland, facility of bypass surgery is available but for detailed and complex surgeries people are sent to Toronto and Montreal and he never felt the need of referring any patient to the US. Media quoted almost everyone who said that surgeons in Canada had high standards.

Fraser Institute stated, "Canada needs commercial health-care insurance and for-profit clinics and hospitals. Their solution for any problem is privatization, so this is no surprise." But reports state that Fraserites failed to pay attention to some important findings in health care research.

Reports also state that a lot of money is minted out for stock holders, executives, and certain medical specialists by investor-owned insurance and hospital chains but more is said and less is delivered actually.
