Researchers have stated that ill-fitted condoms does more harm than good. They reduce the pleasure of sex for men and women and the risk of infection and pregnancy increases.
A poll that questioned about 436 men states that men often take condoms off midway through sex if it has a poor fit. These condoms also has more chances of slipping or splitting off, a Kentucky team found.
UK experts have informed that condoms are available in various shapes and sizes.
Condom’s increasing popularity is now rivaling the pill as a form of contraception.
About 195 men out of 436 men said that they experiences problems due to ill-fitting condoms when questioned by the University of Kentucky researchers. Around 34 men said that they took the condom off early and 18 said it broke during sex.
Men who used well-fitted ones reported these problems in a small ratio.
Simon Blake, from advisory charity Brook, said, "Standard latex condoms should fit most people but there are many different types of condoms available in different shapes and sizes and trying different types will be important in finding the 'right one'."
