A lot of excitement can be seen for Cowra’s Relay For Life. The organizers said that teams that have already registered should come to the Cowra Ex-Services Club at 6 pm on February 17, Wednesday, for gaining further information.
Two teams have already for this event and some fundraising has already been done. Wednesday night would also throw light on what other teams are doing and you can get some great fundraising tips apart from finding out more about the Cancer Council and Relay For Life.
Relay For Life is an outdoor, overnight event which is full of fun. About 10 to 15 people per team take part and they take turns to walk or run around Sid Kallas Oval to honour the lives of those who were affected by cancer.
Relay For Life Coordinator for Cancer Council Western Region, Anna Colema said, “Come along on Wednesday night to find out more about Relay For Life and what a wonderful community event it really is. Fifty per cent of the net funds raised at this years’ event will go to Cancer Care West so we really want to make it the best Relay in Cowra ever!”
Registration can be done online at www. relayforlife. org. au and select the Cowra 2010 event. Cowra Visitor Inforamtion Centre can be visited for registration. The cost per team member is $15 and if you register from March 13 then the cost will be $20 per team member. Participants will get a Relay For Life shirt and cancer smart breakfast on Sunday morning.
