Microsoft-Yahoo Search Deal Awaits Department of Justice Sanction

Regarding the issue of deal between Yahoo and Microsoft to pose a challenge for the market heading Google, the unconditional approval by U. S. Department of Justice is being awaited. This information comes as a source reveals to the New York Post about the deal. The approval to the search agreement is expected to bless Microsoft and Yahoo within 20-30 days.

The source cited in the New York Post stated, "There's nothing coming of the DOJ investigation. This is very easy".

After months of power struggle, Microsoft and Yahoo signed a 10-year global Web search partnership last July and regulators sanction is awaited for the same. Even after the two companies decided upon the agreement, there have been investigations regarding the deal by the Department of Justice since last September.

Against 21% Yahoos shares were at 17.3 percent in December. For Google, the market growth rose from 63% to 65.7%, and for Microsoft it increased to 10.7% from 8.5 %. Microsoft and Yahoo claim that they can stand as competitor for Google which practically is heading the paid search business.
