WellCare Recoils From Write – Downs Of 2008
WellCare-Health

It has been reported that WellCare Health Plans Inc., has bounced back from the loss in the year 2008 in the fourth quarter which was brought about due to the write - downs that cost them $78 million.

They had a bit of a trouble as the premium rate hikes of Medicaid actually failed to keep themselves in tandem to the cost of the medical aid in the last quarter. On one hand, the company is quite certain of achieving about $1.90 to almost $2.15 for every share, while on the other hand, a few studies and surveys shows that the company would indeed do better with an earning of about $2.56 for every share in the year 2010.

It was also reported that the company had actually posted a huge profit of about $11.1 million in this year when compared to the even bigger loss of about $31.1 million. It was an interesting fact to note that the revenue had increased by about 1.4 per cent to almost $1.62 billion after excluding all items like write - downs and also tax impacts.
