HP Revenue Rise 25%, PC Sales Surge
Hewlett-Packard

Hewlett-Packard Co. revenue has seen an upsurge this year leading to more investment in technology in 2010.

It has emerged out of the recession clouds, for its sale in servers has increased in November- January period. The sale of PCs loaded with Microsoft Corp.'s Windows 7 operating software, also saw a big boost.

However, the retailing of computer hardware was down last year because corporations decided not to replace the old equipments in order to save funds.

According to Mark Hurd, HP's CEO, “It is too early to say that the entire information technology market is better. He told analysts on a conference call that the company saw strength in Asia and the U. S. but a "mixed story" in Europe”.

HP's net earnings rose to 25% over last year to $2.3 billion or 96 cents per share, in the three months that ended in Jan. 31.

HP beat the analysts’ forecasts of $120 billion by earning $122.5 billion.

"HP is well-positioned to outperform the market", said Hurd. "The strength of our portfolio, leaner cost structure and accelerating market momentum give us the confidence to raise our full-year outlook".
